literacy evaluations for reading difficulties & dyslexia | Parent support & iep advocacy
Get to the root cause to empower your child's learning
Reading difficulties can have a far-reaching impact on a child's learning and self-esteem. A literacy evaluation is a holistic battery of assessments intended to identify each child's baseline skill levels, learning styles, and interests--so to see the student as a whole child, with unique ways of thinking and seeing the world. From this evaluation, we create a Student Literacy Profile and Learning Plan--a complete learning program with short and long-term goals, resources to support parents, and activities to complement student learning at home. Parent mentoring and IEP advocacy coaching are also available for parents and guardians seeking services for their children attending traditional brick & mortar schools.
Onsite Instruction
For 1:1 and Small Groups in the Tampa Bay Area
With two offices, we offer onsite learning options for individual students and small groups in Dade City and Wesley Chapel. Flexible scheduling and our full-service onsite learning center make personalized instruction accessible and convenient.
Virtual Tutoring
Engaging lessons for students of all ages, anywhere
Virtual teaching is our thing. Using a variety of assessments to target areas for focused instruction, we construct individual progress plans for each student. Balancing traditional learning experiences with interactive apps and Web-tools, each lesson builds upon students’ skills while they gradually become more confident, capable, and independent learners.
Choice Navigators & Annual Evaluations
Supporting Your Choice to Homeschool
We work with homeschool families to support any obstacles they encounter while crafting or teaching their home-ed programs. Whether you are interested in designing an engaging program to adapt to your child's learning needs, or need an annual evaluation, our teachers are Florida State certified educators, offering a range of customizable services to adapt to the needs of homeschool learners, families, and co-ops in the Tampa Bay Area.

Support for struggling readers
There’s a science behind reading.
We all hope to see our children progressing confidently in all areas of learning. Yet even when we have the best intentions, we often become frustrated and hopeless—giving them the right words instead of the right tools—when our children are struggling to read. But there is hope. Learning to read is a science, and with the right kind of instruction, achieving literacy is possible.
Creative & Academic Writing Lessons
The writing process is equally as important as the written products students create.
Many kids (and adults!) become anxious the moment they open their notebooks to a blank page. And while they surely have fresh, creative ideas, they might find it difficult to connect, focus, or expand them. Yet, with tools to plan and stretch their thinking and support throughout the writing process, students will grow confident in their unique voices and find success while writing for creative and academic purposes.
K-12 & ADULT ENGLISH LANGUAGE LESSONS
To learn a second language, become as fearless as the child learning their first.
We’ve probably all once found ourselves hesitant to try something new, fearing we’ll make mistakes or fail while trying. But this fear has no place in language learning. When you experiment with language, the only mistake is never going out on a whim to use it. With opportunities to explore and practice authentically, students build knowledge of so much more than vocabulary and grammar; they learn how to express themselves in different settings and for various purposes, becoming more confident as they move closer to fluency everyday.

Core Values & Mission
I believe that learning knows no walls. While I specialize in reading, writing, and language instruction, my mission as an educator moves far beyond the teaching of skills and content. I believe in educating the whole-child, and my goal is to empower my students to become lifelong learners who confidently pave their own paths to success and take pride in their unique skills, experiences, and voices.
I believe that our most profound learning experiences occur in open dialogue with one another, and thus, the relationships I build with my students and their families become the foundation for my teaching. On this foundation, I build individual instructional programs and customize learning experiences that cater to my students’ interests and learning styles, as well as their personal, academic, and professional goals.
Education & Experience
I was born and raised in Long Island, N.Y., where, at the young age of five, I decided I would become a teacher when I grew up. When I was twelve-years old, I began volunteering as a tutor at the local library. Since then, I have worked with students who live locally and those as far as East Asia. My students range in age, and while I have tutored students from Pre-K to twelfth-grade, I have also worked with adult learners studying English for business and personal purposes. Working with students of all ages is a rewarding challenge because each stage of learning presents a new opportunity to consider how to teach a topic in a way that the learner will understand, relate to, and remember.
I came to Florida to attend the University of Tampa, where I studied English and Creative Writing and earned my certification to teach English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later went on to earn my Florida teaching certification in elementary education (K-6). In 2015, I began teaching full-time, and since then, I have taught a variety of subjects and grade-levels in both public and private schools. In 2021, I graduated from Saint Leo University, with a Master of Education in Reading.
